Kokyu means internal energy as it relates to another’s force. Kokyunage is any throw that does not involve a joint lock, hip throw or any other throw that has a direct mechanical reason that causes the attacker to fall. This kind of throw is unique to aikido. The practice of kokyunage helps us to unblock stagnant energy, increase fluidity and draw someone else into our energy field. I have included a link to footage explaining one variation of Kokyunage.
